We visit your property with a designer and public safety officer to identify safety risks. You receive a prioritized action plan to improve visibility, access control, and site use

We help your team implement recommended improvements, coordinating design updates, contractors, and site changes so the strategy becomes real-world results

After improvements are made, we measure results, documenting safety improvements and identifying any adjustments needed

FOUNDER & STRATEGIST

I help create safer places that prevent crime, bring people together, and protect investments

Melissa Dominguez, Founder and Safety Strategist of Dominguez Urban Strategies, believes that safety must come first.

Melissa holds a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, and her work is informed by environmental design, public space strategy, and safety-focused planning. Through Dominguez Urban Strategies, she applies this design-informed lens together with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design principles to help clients understand how the physical environment can support safer, more welcoming places. When a project requires licensed landscape architectural services, Dominguez Urban Strategies works with appropriately licensed professionals as part of the project team.

When a space feels unsafe, nothing else works. Not community. Not business. Not trust.

Drawing from her experience with multifamily developments, parks, commercial sites, and community spaces, Melissa uses proven Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design principles to help property owners, schools, developers, and cities identify safety concerns and address environmental conditions that may contribute to crime.

Melissa works alongside public safety professionals, developers, and design teams to recommend practical, visible, non-stamped strategies that reduce risk, support community use, and help protect people and property.

And she does not stop at recommendations. She follows through, measures results, and demonstrates that safer spaces can strengthen communities and protect long-term property value.

Dominguez Urban Strategies provides safety consulting, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design assessments, and non-stamped recommendations. We do not offer licensed landscape architectural services. When a project requires licensed landscape architecture, engineering, architecture, or surveying services, we collaborate with appropriately licensed professionals.
